Evette Vargas and producing partner Ricardo Reyes on Thursday announced the launch of Indigo Reign Films, a new full-service production company based out of Los Angeles.

Indigo Reign will focus on elevated projects with social impact and multicultural representation, producing stories in the U.S., Mexico, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain. The company will be active across film, television, commercials, podcasts, interactive, gaming, and music videos. Vargas and Reyes will serve as co-CEOs, with Emmy-winning cinematographer Jimmy A. Velarde, composer-producer The Angel and line producer Noah A. Waters III also on the team.

Los Angeles-based independent production company Indigo Reign Films will turn the fierce dispute between businessmen Abílio Diniz and Jean Charles Naouri into a film. Titled “Diniz vs Naouri: Rise and Fall of an Empire”, the film is scheduled to go into production next year.

The film will chronicle the behind-the-scenes of the dispute for control of Pão de Açúcar — which ended up in the hands of Naouri’s French group Casino — in a white-collar drama that the producer describes as a mix of “Succession” and “The Wolf of Wall Street”, with a lot of “greed and betrayal, backroom deals between corporate and political leaders, conspiracy and espionage”.
